Gold Cross Pen Jul 10, 2009 This is a classic that performs very nicely, as advertised. I have used Cross Pens for 30+ years. Very dependable.
Good Pen Apr 07, 2009 You can't really go wrong with a Cross pen, it's the Toyota of pens. Simple, dependable, durable, and good overall quality. The Customer Service provided by the seller was also very good. The only doubt I had was whether the pen was new or preowned. But, overall I am really happy with my new Cross Pen!
not as advertised Apr 02, 2009 Picture looked great but the product was not as advertised. It came with a commercial logo on it--maybe a promotional item used by that company. The seller agreed to take it back when I complained. Seller also paid return postage but I had to ask.
Too much hassle for me--I would be reluctant to use this seller again.
Standard gold cross pen is probably fine but this wasn't it.

As good as always Mar 20, 2008 When I lost my last Cross pen, I read the online reviews and hesitated for quite a while before ordering a new one. It's made in China, alright, but I couldn't find any difference between the pen I received and what I had had before. The finish is good, operation is smooth, and everything fits.

Where was it made? Feb 20, 2007 Before you buy, be sure to check where the pen was made. I have a number of older Cross pens that say "USA" near the top, and they are great pens. However, I have bought three different ones in the past few years that do not indicate where they were made, and they are of inferior quality. The top and bottom halves are loose, and have to be carefully manipulated to come together without a gap. The first one I got, I sent it back to Cross for warranty repair under their "lifetime guarantee," only to receive it back unchanged telling me that it was just fine - and a "handling fee" attached.
I was willing to believe it was simply an anomaly, one bad pen. So later on when some new colors came out, I bought two more - only to see that they have the same quality defect.
My advice: if you want a good Cross pen, go to the secondhand store and buy one that was made in USA. They aren't making them the same anymore.
