 Won't let other computers work on my network May 14, 2010
To get it to work I have to pull the ethernet cables on all my other computers on the router. Then I connect it and reset the modem. It works then. But if I reconnect all the other computers, none of them get access. It's either the computer connected to the adapter or the other computers. Of course to get the other computers to work again I have to disconnect the Cisco adapter reconnect the other computers and then reset the modem again. This is pretty inconvenient. I tried this with another modem and got the same results. Also, I bought a Cisco Linksys USB300M Ethernet Adapter and got the same results with it. Maybe one of the other adapters on the market work better.

I bought this adaptor.
I opened the box and the first thing I read was
"The Windows Vista operating system is not supported by this device."

Nowhere does it mention that Vista, a 2007 operating system, is not supported. This is egregiously misleading.

Didn't work with a Mac Feb 20, 2010
I was quite disappointed with this item because one of the salesmen at the Apple store told me to purchase it for my Mac laptop and when it came, I was shocked to realize it didn't work with a Mac.

My 2003 Dell Inspiron 8200 has seen its better days, but it is still Kicken! Both exspansion slots, the ethernet port, the Disc Drive & the floppy drive are all Broke! My only access to the outside world is (2) USB ports and I needed to install a Wireless G Router which required an Eternet Port. With That, I went with the "Belkin F5D5050 USB Ethernet Adaptor" and it worked like a Charm! I just Plugged it in and Windows XP found it and ran the setup wizard. My Router, connected thru the "Belkin F5D5050 USB Ethernet Adaptor" has been running fine for weeks now!

we had the original Tivo adaptor and it wouldn't connect properly to download info. we purchased this because of the ease of it and were very please, plus is priced right
