Simply the best wireless usb VoIP headset out there today. No installation required; just plugged it into the usb port on my work PC for my Avaya softphone & I was in business. Could not be more impressed with the sound quality, both transmitting & receiving. As for the range, I tested it up to 200+ ft with no noticeable loss in signal strength. Amazing, and worth every penny.
A Great Product and a Great price May 17, 2010
This device has worked flawlessly. the sound quality and reach are spectacular. I can walk out to the end of my drive way and still hold a conversation while getting the mail. I had priced this item at other places for at least $100 more.

I purchased this unit for wireless calling, mainly skype. I have a MacBook Pro Unibody, and though the unit does "work", in that you can talk and hear using it, none of the remote controls work. This means that if you are using OSX, you can't answer, or terminate a call with the call button on the unit. Also the sound on the until was "OK", but really requires you to use the overhead strap thing with the cushion to block out ambient noise. Its to bad the cushion doesn't work with the over the ear holder things.
At first I thought this would not be a big deal, but its clumsy and it really should work. I decided to contact Plantronics support and let them be the determinate in whether I would keep the unit or not. Plantronics replied that they don't intend to fix this problem --ever. So I'm sending the unit back and will order something else that really works.
Sometimes a purchase just doesn't feel right. For something so expensive, it should really work. If your an Apple person, this just doesn't.

I use DragonNaturallySpeaking 9.5 preferred. This was the bluetooth microphone recommended by Nuance. It worked beyond my expectations. I am no longer limited by the wired headset that came with the program. I would recommend it for anyone using version 9 or higher. Well worth the money. I also use it for my skype application. No one has complained about not being able to hear me and I find the volume is fine.

Expensive but useful! Feb 14, 2010
My main reason for buying this headset was that you can use it from a long distance from the base. I needed to be able to go all over my house and even just outside it while using the headset; the CS50 seemed like the best headset in its price range for my needs.
I have not had any problems with my headset so far since receiving it a few weeks ago. I have only used it with Skype so far and the sound quality is excellent.
Although the CS50 is a bit expensive, the cheaper headsets available don't seem to be able to be used more than about 30 feet from the base unit.
