Kidde Alarm - CO and Smoke Jul 26, 2010 The only reason I gave this 4 and not 5 stars is that the alarm has not been given the ultimate test, and I hope it never will. Other reviews of this product, especially one where the alarm did perform in a real-life situation, persuaded me to buy. It was well priced, easy to install n my travel trailer, and tested just fine.
Kidde Carbon Monoxide and Smoke Alarm Jul 24, 2010 I already owned one of these alarms and liked it so well I decided to buy another. It detects and warns of both smoke and carbon monoxide. The voice alarm also lets you know which hazard is present. Overall, it's a simple, economical answer to our need for fire/smoke and CO protection. Kidde even supplies the three AAA batteries that power the unit. I plan to buy at least two more to provide additional protection for our basement and other rooms. Fortunately, it's never activated. Note that the smoke alarm is an ionization type that detects particles from flaming fires sooner than do photoelectric alarms, but photoelectric units detect smoke from smoldering fires sooner. The company recommends installation of both types to provide complete protection.
It is still working Jul 19, 2010 I bought one this last year from Lowe's. It was out of order June of this year. Then, I bought another one this product from Amazon.com. It is still working now.

Expired Stock!! Jul 08, 2010 Product was expired, Kidde sent me a replacement and amazon refund me, beware of expired stock on alarms on Amazon.
Does the job Jul 05, 2010 I purchased this to replace an identical one that finally died after 6 years. Thankfully we have only experienced smoke alarms coming from something that got a little too hot on the kitchen stove but each time the unit quickly detected it and warned us of the situation. I highly recommend this unit, but if you prefer another, please get one of some type for your home and the protection of your family.
